Scope of this policy

This privacy policy applies to agesofconflict.org. The site is a fan-made player resource and browser-demo page. It does not require an account, accept payments, provide comments, or ask visitors to submit personal information directly through the site.

Some functions are supplied by third parties. Google Analytics measures site use, Google AdSense code supports site verification and advertising services, and the game frame is delivered by itch.io when you click the cover or move your pointer into the play area, and external links may take you to Steam, itch.io, Discord, Reddit, or other independent services. Their own privacy policies apply when you interact with them.

Information that may be collected

When you request a page, technical information may be processed automatically. Depending on the service involved, this can include your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, approximate location derived from IP, referring page, pages visited, timestamps, language, screen size, and basic interaction or diagnostic information. This information is used to deliver the site, protect it from abuse, understand whether pages work, and improve player guides.

The site is hosted on Vercel. Like most hosting providers, Vercel may process request and security logs needed to operate and protect the service. We do not use this site to collect postal addresses, payment details, or game account credentials. If you email us, we receive your email address, any name shown by your email account, and the content or attachments you choose to send. We use that information to respond and handle the issue you raised.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregated traffic and site performance. Google Analytics may use cookies or similar identifiers and may receive information such as page views, session activity, browser and device data, referral source, and approximate geographic information. The measurement ID used on this site is G-DY4F9XQ3FP.

Google processes this information under its own terms and privacy practices. You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services. You may also use browser privacy controls or the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Embedded itch.io browser game

Pages may establish an early connection to itch.io, static.itch.io, and html-classic.itch.zone to reduce game-loading delays. This can happen before you interact with the game and may expose connection information, such as your IP address, to those services. An early connection does not itself load the game or necessarily set cookies.

The Ages of Conflict browser demo is embedded from itch.io. The iframe loads when you click the cover or move your pointer into the play area; pressing Start inside the game is not required to trigger these requests. Your browser then requests the embedded page and game files directly from itch.io and its delivery domains. Those services may receive technical request data and may use cookies, local storage, or similar technology to provide the game, remember settings, prevent abuse, and diagnose delivery problems.

Activity inside the embedded game is governed by itch.io's policies, not this policy. Review the itch.io privacy policy before starting the frame if you want more detail.

Cookies, local storage, and your controls

Google Analytics and the embedded game may place or read cookies and similar identifiers. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, use private browsing, disable Analytics with the opt-out tool above, or avoid clicking or moving your pointer into the play area to keep the game iframe from loading. Early connections described above may still occur. Blocking storage may reduce Analytics measurement and can prevent the embedded game or saved preferences from working as expected.

Browser-level Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signals may be sent by your browser. Because third-party services determine how they respond to these signals, consult their policies for service-specific details.

External links and data sharing

Links to itch.io, Steam, Discord, Reddit, the community wiki, and Steam Workshop leave this site. We do not control the data those services collect. We do not sell personal information, and this site does not provide visitor lists to game-community sites. Information is shared as part of using the hosting, Analytics, AdSense, email, and embedded-game services described above, or when required to comply with law or protect the site.

Advertising

This site includes Google AdSense code in preparation for advertising.Whether ads appear depends on Google's review and the advertising settings for the site. Loading the code connects your browser to Google's advertising services, which may receive technical request information such as your IP address, browser details, and the page URL even when no ad is displayed.

When ads are served, third-party vendors, including Google, may place and read cookies in your browser and use web beacons (small tracking pixels), IP addresses, device or browser identifiers, and ad interaction information. These technologies may be used to deliver ads, measure views and clicks, limit repeated ads, detect fraud, and, where permitted and consented to, personalize advertising based on visits to this and other websites. This policy may change when site features or service providers change. The date at the top will be revised when a material update is published. In particular, advertising disclosures and consent choices will be added before any advertising service is activated.
